Internet Service Providers (ISP for short)

Evening Bloggers!

The upmost of sincere apologies to you all bloggers. I am afraid I have let the Melvyn's Realm Community down as I have been unable to 'blog' as frequently recently due to Internet Service Providers (ISP for short) technical difficulties.

An Internet Service Provider (ISP for short) is a company which provides a connection to the internet aka (also known as) the World Wide Web aka (also known as) WWW aka (also known as) the net. Unfourtunately, the Internet Service Provider (ISP for short) responsible for my internet serivice has NOT been working sufficiently. I am NOT a technological expert despite my love of technology, from my extenisve research and from what I understand there has been a problem with the 'exchange'. The very kind gentlemen of Indian extraction assured me that the internet aka (also known as) the World Wide Web aka (also known as) WWW aka (also known as) the net will be functioning to its fullest potential very soon.

I must keep this post short as its very near my bedtime.

Kindest Regards
Melvyn P.O'Shea

Space Vs. (versus) The Sea

Bloggers,

Did you know that more is known about space than our very own oceans, seas, lakes, rivers and ponds? I simply just cannot contemplate how much information there is to learn about our underwater world.

Please bloggers (especially those who are of the hydrophiliac nature), feel free to share your depth of understanding on this matter. We, the Melvyn's Realm community, can build our very own ocean of knowledge together!

Kindest regards,

The Iron Lady

Evening bloggers!

Today my mother, Aunt Helen and myself went to see 'The Iron Lady' (directed by Phyllida Lloyd). The film talks about Margaret Hilda Thatcher LG OM PC FRC aka (also known as) Baroness Thatcher  aka (also known as) Maggie Thatcher born 1(3 October 1925), for those international readers who may by unfamiliar with Margaret Hilda Thatcher LG OM PC FRC aka (also known as) Baroness Thatcher  aka (also known as) Maggie Thatcher born (13 October 1925) she was a British Politician who served as Prime Minister from 1979 to 1990.
Back to the film, Margaret Hilda Thatcher LG OM PC FRC aka (also known as) Baroness Thatcher  aka (also known as) Maggie Thatcher (born 13 October 1925) was played by none other than Mary Louise "Meryl" Streep  (born June 22 1949) she depicted Margaret Hilda Thatcher LG OM PC FRC aka (also known as) Baroness Thatcher  aka (also known as) Maggie Thatcher (born 13 October 1925) character most gloriously exposing not just her hard exterior but also the mother inside her. Meryl - a glorious performance. From start to finish my mother, Aunt Helen and myself were truly gripped and captivated apart from when we were filling our throats with popcorn!

I would like to rate this film 4 Melvyn stars out of 5 (Dorothy isn't here at the moment to do the stars).

Fellow bloggers, my mother, Aunt Helen and myself urge you to watch this spectacular film. If you have already watched I would thoroughly enjoy hearing your thoughts and opinions.

Kindest Regards

End of the Season - Here's to 2012

Evening bloggers!

Today marks the twelfth day to the 'post-Christmas' season and therefore marks the end of the Chrsitmas festivities. Hence, the decorations have been brought down. As the old O'Shea family saying goes "12 days after, avoids disaster". My mother, Aunt Helen, Emmanuelle and myself 'dechristmasfied' the abode.

Emmanuelle's duty was to remove all tinsel from the tree and place it neatly into the storage box, whilst my mother, took down the colourful Christmas lights and baubles and placed them into Father Christmas' furry fluffy festive sack, Aunt Helen kindly disposed of the tree. However she didn't just throw it away, oh no, she took it to the local recycling facility, as for myself, my role in this operation was to neatly stow away the christmas cards and the nativity ready for the next advent season.

I am very disheartened to the end of the yuletide. However easter is just around the corner, meaning more glorious celebrations and the visiting of the easter bunny.

Kindest Regards

Robert James Gilbert Anderson aka (also known as) Bob Anderson RIP (rest in peace)

Bloggers,

I have some terrible and sombre news to break to you this evening. It has come to my attention that the great Robert James Gilbert Anderson aka (also known as) Bob Anderson has sadly passed away. For those of you who are not aware of Robert James Gilbert Anderson aka (also known as) Bob Anderson, he was a magnificent olympic fencing champion, who was most notably known for his role as Darth Vader's stunt double in The Empire Strikes Back (1980) and Return of the Jedi (1983) aka (also known as) two of the original Star Wars films. I love Star Wars and always dreamed of flying the Milennium Falcon just like Han Solo.

Kindest regards,

Foreign bloggers - Russia

Good Evening bloggers!

I have been examining the geographical statistics of my blog and I have noticed that a vast majority of readers are situated in Russia. Did you know that Russia is the largest country in the world? Its total area is 17,075,400 square kilometres (6,592,800 sq mi) with an extensive coastline of over 37,000 km (22,991 mi) along the Arctic and Pacific Oceans, as well as along the Baltic Sea, Sea of Azov, Black Sea and Caspian Sea. Russia has over 160 ethnic groups that speak over 100 languages.

I have a new tool in my arsenal known as "Google Translate". It allows the user to translate from any desired language into another. However, its database lacks many languages, in particular a lot of the 'native' Negro languages. Therefore, I have prepared a short sentence for my Russian bloggers.

привет! Добро пожаловать в область Мелвин в. This translates to "Hello! Welcome to Melvyn's Realm".

I look forward to hearing from you all.

Welcome to the Realm

Good Afternoon bloggers,

I would like to take this opportunity to give a warm Melvyn's Realm welcome to our newest follower, Alan. I hope Alan has a thoroughly wonderful time perusing through my posts.

As mentioned previously, Alan is one of my delightful SCUBA diving friends. For those of you who are unfamiliar with SCUBA diving, I will give you a brief introduction as it is one of my dreams to swim with dolphins (I have an embroidered dolphin called Nathaniel delicately stitched into my swimming trunks very kindly done-so by my Mother) and other such sea-life.

SCUBA aka (also known as) Self-contained breathing apparatus diving allows divers to breathe underwater and to become familar with the sub-aqua world. SCUBA originated during World War II for underwater warfare. From my extensive research, I understand that some of the equipment required include

  • "Stab jacket" which is the armband for the body i.e. it is required for buoyancy
  • "Demand Valve" which supplies oxygen to the body from a cylinder
  • "Cylinder" which contains oxygen
  • "Mask" which is equivalent to swimming goggles
  • "Diving flippers" to manouvre through the water
  • "Wetsuit" underwater attire which is sometimes made of "neoprene" aka (also known as) polychloroprene. For the scientifically minded it is a family of synthetic rubbers that are produced by polymerisation of chloroprene.
Please Alan, feel free to correct me if any information is incorrect.

Welcome, Alan, from the Melvyn's Realm community and myself.

As I keep stressing, please subscribe, comment and interact with Alan and myself.

Kindest regards,
Melvyn P. O'Shea
